Sandra had spent fifteen years believing she knew Aaron completely. They had grown up together, built a life, and entered marriage with what she believed was a strong and lasting relationship. During their first year as husband and wife, small changes appeared, but nothing seemed serious enough to make her question the trust they had built.
Over time, however, Aaron became more private. He began taking phone calls away from Sandra, guarded his phone more carefully, and kept things in a drawer she had never noticed before. She also saw the name Vanessa but chose not to ask about it, convincing herself that suspicion would only create unnecessary problems.
On their first wedding anniversary, Sandra prepared a special evening to celebrate their years together. While getting ready, she noticed Aaron was elsewhere and assumed he might be planning a surprise. Then she heard him speaking quietly on the phone, and the tone of the conversation immediately felt different from anything she expected. Suddenly, the small details she had previously dismissed began to seem connected, leaving Sandra facing the first serious crack in the trust she had never questioned.
