Count the Circles Viral Personality Puzzle Tests Your Perception

A viral visual test is circulating online with the claim that the number of circles you see can reveal whether you are a narcissist. The image features overlapping circles that can be surprisingly difficult to count, with different viewers noticing different shapes and sometimes changing their answers after looking more closely.

The puzzle is interesting because our brains do not process every visual detail in exactly the same way. Attention, expectations, image quality, screen size, lighting, eyesight, and even the amount of time spent looking can affect what someone notices. People may also use different ideas about what qualifies as a separate circle.

However, the connection between the puzzle and narcissism should be viewed as entertainment rather than a psychological assessment. Counting circles cannot diagnose narcissism or reliably determine someone’s personality. The real takeaway is that people can perceive the same image differently, so count the circles, compare your answer with friends, and enjoy the challenge without treating the result as a personality test.
