This evening, I went into my girlfriend’s bathroom and found this on th e floor…

At first, the strange object on the bathroom floor looked like a piece of dark, rubbery trash. Its unusual shape immediately caught attention, and the more it was examined, the less it seemed like ordinary debris. Uncertainty made the situation feel increasingly unsettling.

Instead of ignoring it, the person checked the bathroom carefully, looking around the pipes, ceiling, corners, and other areas for any sign of where it might have come from. Questions about whether it had come through a drain or moved from a damp area only added to the concern.

A closer look revealed slight movement and a texture that clearly did not belong to plastic or discarded material. After comparing images online, the mystery was finally solved: it was a leech. The discovery was surprising and understandably made the bathroom seem much less comfortable afterward.

The experience served as a reminder that unexpected things can sometimes appear in ordinary places. Although the leech itself was eventually identified, the lasting impression came from the uncertainty and surprise of discovering something living where it was least expected.
