After a long, exhausting day at work, I returned home hoping to relax, only to notice several tiny white spheres scattered near my bed frame. Their unusual appearance immediately caught my attention, and I wondered whether they could be insect eggs or something living in my bedroom. The objects looked almost identical, like little white beads, leaving me unsure what I had discovered. Although the sight was unsettling, I decided to take a closer look rather than jump to conclusions.
One possibility was that a house gecko had laid eggs nearby. Some lizards deposit their eggs in sheltered places, such as wall cracks, hidden corners, and gaps behind furniture. However, genuine gecko eggs are generally oval-shaped, have firm, chalky shells, and are usually laid in small numbers. A collection of perfectly round, identical white spheres would be unusual for a single female gecko. Other explanations include foam pellets escaping from a damaged pillow or mattress, small plastic beads, or another manufactured material. Without examining the objects closely, it would be difficult to identify them confidently.
Rather than panic, the best approach is to photograph the objects, inspect nearby bedding and furniture for damage, and look for other clues before deciding what they are. Avoid crushing or handling them unnecessarily, and consider contacting a pest-control professional if they appear to be genuine eggs or their identity remains uncertain. An unexpected discovery at home can certainly be unsettling, but it doesn’t automatically mean something dangerous is happening. Sometimes, the smartest response is to stay calm, examine the evidence, and find a reliable explanation before allowing fear to take over.
